Strawberry Days

We {heart} Strawberry Days at our house, well James not so much. Since he didn't grow up in ole PG he does not appreciate this wonderful week of festivities.  He is coming around slowly, but surely though:)
One of the Best things about Strawberry Days is of course the
Strawberries and Cream. yum-ee.
The Rodeo is always a hit and this yr we signed Cohen up to do the MUTTON BUSTIN. Well he was adament about NOT doing it, so we asked Bos and he was thrilled. He kept talking about it all wk and said he was going to ride a "Big one".
Cohen really wanted to chase the Money Cow instead.
The night came and this is how the events went:
We get to the rodeo and head to the shoots. Collin and Carter were also participating in the mutton bustin. So we were all hanging out getting ready and Bosten starts freaking out.
*see the i'm not going to ride this thing look on his face?.....*
The mean mother that i am told him that he's riding and that he has been excited about it all wk.
We then handed off our screaming child to this rodeo guy and the sheep.
He had calmed down and wasn't crying. My last words to him were
"you holding on tight?  love you, have fun"
The guy said he had a death grip and was holding on tight.
The gate opened and off he went.

He was doing great and wasn't even close to falling off.
And then, all of a sudden he supermaned off, belly flopping onto his face.
Pretty sure the crying began again.
Poor little sad, in shock Bosten.
He's a cute little muttin buster though.
Throughout the next couple days we would ask him about it and he wouldn't talk about it. Then we'd ask if he wanted to do it again and instantly he would respond "NO RIDE SHEEP GIN".
Money Cow: they send out two calves with money taped to them and let kids run after them, trying to get the money. Cohen talks about this yr round and this yr he was able to do it.
The age limit is really 7-12 yrs old, but they said he could go out. He, collin, and carter tried so hard to catch the darn things, but really they had no chance. Maybe next yr :)
These boys love to watch the rodeo and are entertained the whole time.

We friends always try and make it to the rodeo together.
HUCK FINN DAY is another fun thing my kids like to attend during this wk.
My boys love it, but the lines are getting to long and its pretty crowded.
This yr we took Grayden. He's dennis the mennis.
We also hit up the Baby Contest
(which the proceeds help fund huck finn days)
Little Jags didn't win. boo.
But we did get a pic with  BIG BUDHA from FOX 13 news!
Who also plays in the movie FOREVER STRONG!
PARADE
The parade for my kids is probably right up there with the Rodeo, if not better for them.
They get so excited for everything.....the candy, the bands, all the handouts even though they have no idea what they are for, etc.
My Friend Haley and i are always making sure we have the best spot and front row for our kids.
Bosten probably enjoyed the parade the most this yr or at least showed his enjoyment the most.

Lovin the Daylight Doughnuts and chocolate milk Gma always brings as we wait for the parade to start.

After the Parade we usually hit the Carnival for a few rides.
*lighting was bad....too shady*
Bos chose the train to ride.
And the other boys chose the Dragon roller coaster.
Goodbye Strawberries Days....till next yr.  We cant wait!!

Looks like so much fun! I think Strawberry days kills Lehi days.
